Best if the Four

Im looking for a stretching program that lets me build a stretch routine based on my personal needs. I tried these four apps below, that receive high marks on the App Store, but each limitations. Maybe the 4 can work together to create a killer app. 1. Virtual Trainer Stretch: Best of the four because it allows you to select any stretch from a home screen and they use a real person in the images. There are 60 stretches, which may meet your needs but most of the stretches recommended by my physical therapist arent in their library. 2. Performance Stretching: Great images and appears to have a large library but the only way to access the stretches is to use their pre-canned routines, which dont suit me (never understood why exercise apps feel they need to build routines for us). Theres no way to build your own stretch routine. 3. Select Stretch Trainer: Allows you to build a stretch routine, but they use poorly animated characters. Also, no way to know how large their libraray is because you can only access by selecting a muscle group first. 4. Start Stretching: Incredibly basic...only 9 stretches and they use animated characters

Overall this is the best stretching app I have used. The timer and session tracking interface is simple and easy to follow. I stretch 3-4 times per week for 30-40 minutes and this app has improved my efficiency.

Not quite there yet but lots of potential

I like this app. It lets me set up my own stretch program. Unfortunately, there are only 60 stretches to choose from now which is pretty limiting. Im hoping more stretch choices will be added in the future as well as the ability to add your own stretches (just the name, no pictures). Also the timer/count function is a pain! I like the ability to choose how many reps but find having to put in a rest period ( in minutes - too long - not seconds) is a real pain and not helpful.

Didnt understand some of the stretches

Im glad they have "videos" but some of them are too static for me to know whether Im doing them correctly or not, which is scary, because as far as I understand, performing a stretch incorrectly can be damaging...

For us novices it need some type of auido and text you have to guess what thet are doing save your money

This Has Helped Me A lot

I am coming from a place where I have not stretched regularly nor taking it seriously. I never gave enough time or attention to my flexibility. This app helps me brake that negative habit and its easy and I really feel great, loose, relaxed and ready for the rest of my day after doing these stretch routines.

Finally an app for real stretching !

Great app

App is great. Just one thing that is a bit strange, when you choose a strech where sou have to do left and right (so 2) it consideres it the same as those who are symetrical. Either you do all once, or all twice...

Good For All Levels

Its not an exciting workout, but it is customizable. Could use some soothing music, but for the price...really useful.

Great start to the day!

I am in terrible shape and am using this app to start my day and get me back to moving. The customizable workouts are a plus for days when stuff just doesnt cooperate.

Terrible; Stay Away!!

When you select one set, and there is an exercise where you stretch both sides of your body (like stretching one calf at a time), the app doesnt automatically stretch BOTH sides. There is no way to select anything other than "easy" exercises. There is only 1 pre-made program for you.

This app is good to keep you moving with stretching exsercises, its is just recomended.

Great Stretch app

I am a runner so I downloaded this app as AM/PM stretch routine. The app lets you pick from several different types of stretches and set your own routine.

No explanation what to do

This is just the list of poses, no explanation, no dynamics. There are plenty of other apps out there that are way more interesting and stimulating.

Wonderful

There were some issues I had like making sure my posture was straight/correct and making sure I had the right positions, limbs, hands and feet in the right places as well. But overall I feel pretty good. Will continue to come back for more. It takes 23 to form a habit one down 22 to go! Thanks.
